A vital component in studying Lutheran church history and doctrine, the Augsburg Confession is considered the chief confession of the Lutheran church. The Unaltered Augsburg Confession A.D. 1530 is a new translation that contains all 28 articles of the original Augsburg Confession. It is presented in simple, contemporary English, which allows for easy reading. Also included in this booklet is a brief historical introduction written by Glen Thompson and explanatory notes. This study proves that doctrines written long ago are still relevant today and can add depth to your beliefs.

Great unaltered translation Review by Mitl
Finally was able to read and understand the complete unaltered confession. I would love a Spanish equivalent to this translation to be able to share with Spanish-speakers (Posted on 6/10/2020)

Excellent Translation! Review by Jordan
I have read through the translations of Henkel, Jacobs, Bente, Tappert (both translations Latin and German), Kolb/Wengert (both translations Latin and German) and McCain. Compared to all of these Thompson’s translation and footnote material are by far the most accessible for any curious layperson. The translation is accurate, clear and direct. The footnotes explain important historical and biblical people, places and events. The layout is clean and open which is perfect for putting ones own notes in the margin. The price is hard to beat as well. To my knowledge there is only one currently available edition that is less expensive-CPH publishes a 5 dollar McCain edition of the Confession. For any WELS member who is interested in the Confessions this a must have for the library! (Posted on 1/26/2020)
