Prayers are complex and yet simple Review by Annette
So, I'm thinking out of all of the People Bible Teaching series books, this is going to be easy one by far. Every one of these has kind of opened your eyes, you get in that mindset you got it pretty well figured out, when--- [kerplunk], you see it in this new perspective. With all my books I underline, highlight, and if it deserves a good post-it-note. I go through all that, so later, if I want to study or observe it a bit closer, I can. There's God the Father. God the creator. ...and Jesus Christ is "King". Because we are living in the Age where technology has grown, although there are no flying vehicles like the Jetsons, we associate "King" to Jesus Christ. There is no other... even the president (which in all honesty is the newer way to title:King) shrinks in comparison. In reading this, you and I pray in our homes or at church or when we are eating out you may say 'Grace'. But when you think about the auditoriums that get filled up, or the concert stadiums, all those chants that they do, the repeating of lyrics or chanting names, I wonder what that looks like to God from heaven? We have our homage of verses, poems, lyrics, stanzas... but do we do with our hearts? I may sing off key or pray with a ripple of emotion, but God is getting my heart when He hears my prayers. God gives us peace, we are one with Him in our verbal prayers. The chapter about the King speaks first... I think the author is better at filling in that information for you. It's a good book to have on hand and share with your child or a friend... even just to discuss these points in a friendly chit-chat or debate... or for a friend who's seeking guidance. You can pull it from the shelf and use it as a guide tool. There are verses, references and no prayer is ever wrong! (Posted on 8/30/2017)
