Details
Each hymn tune in this collection has an easy organ prelude and a three-voice setting for manuals only. The preludes may be used as preservice music, voluntaries, or postludes. The hymns settings may be used to introduce hymn singing or as alternates to the full four-voice textures found in most hymnals. Each hymn setting and prelude may be used to create a single composition in ABA form (hymn setting, prelude, and hymn setting repeated). Many of the titles in the collection are intended to be used as instructional pieces for beginning organ students. Most preludes are written for two manuals, include easy pedal parts, utilize fingering patterns found in organ instruction books, and apply basic organ registrations. The preludes are in order of difficulty. Tunes include:
