To commemorate 50 years of Meditations Daily Devotional (2007)—the popular quarterly devotional booklet from Northwestern Publishing House—366 devotions from past volumes were collected into a special gift edition entitled Meditations on Favorite Scriptures. Each devotion in this volume focuses on a well-known portion of the Bible, verses that Christians around the world regard as favorites. The devotions offer the comfort and guidance of God's Word, focusing on the gospel promises of Jesus.
Each daily reading begins with a verse and concludes with a short prayer. The devotions were revised and updated from their original appearances in Meditations Daily Devotional. Bible passages are now from the New International Version, and hymn verses are quoted as they appear in Christian Worship: A Lutheran Hymnal. Spend each day of the year reading devotions based on beloved passages that are cherished by Christians throughout the world.
