The music on this double CD was performed at the National Conference on Worship, Music and the Arts, held July 21-24, 2002. This conference was the third national event sponsored by the Commission on Worship of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod. The conference was held on the campus of Carthage College, Kenosha, Wisconsin. Most of the selections were recorded in the 1,600 seat Siebert Chapel with the support of its four-manual Casavant organ. Included in the schedule were five services, three concerts and four recitals.
The services were: Christ the King (last Sunday of End Time), Evening Prayer in Advent, Fourth Sunday in Advent, The First Service of Christmas (Christmas Eve) and Evening Prayer in the Style of Taize. Selections from each of these events are included on the CDs. A 130-voice choir and a 43-piece orchestra presented the opening Festival Concert. 115 high school students, selected from around the nation as a conference Honor Choir, presented the closing concert which was attended by some 1,500 people.
