TIP: Are you leading a small group Bible study but struggling to prompt inquiry and discussion from the other students? It is understandable that some may be hesitant to ask questions or share ideas in the more intimate setting of a small group. Sometimes, how you phrase your invitations can make all the difference! Instead of asking, “Do you have any questions?” try asking, “What questions do you have?” This slightly different wording can help questions feel more welcome and expected. Leaving a pause of at least seven seconds will also help give students the time that they need to formulate their thoughts.
