Before beginning your thorough study of the Bible, start with an overview of the Book itself.
Book of Books provides a quick introduction to the author, content, and purpose of each book of the Bible. It includes a brief review of Jewish history and an introduction to the New Testament manuscripts. This edition also has an introduction to the Dead Sea Scrolls and a critical review of several translations of the Scriptures, including the New Living Translation.
The People's Bible series is a Bible commentary for everyone. The authors of the series have served as pastors, college teachers, or seminary professors. Each author began with the original Hebrew or Greek text and then worked to bring the message of God's Word to Christians who are looking to dive deeper into their study of the Bible. Two important truths guide all the commentaries. First, the Bible is God's inspired Word and is therefore true and reliable. Second, the central message of the entire Bible is Jesus Christ.

Best Book Ever to have on your bookshelf!!!!! Review by Annette
There are a lot of commentary books out there about the Old and New Testament and this commentary book is very significant, it holds a summary of info. More like a summary of statements regarding where the title of the book came from, who wrote it, time period, importance of chapters, even adding comments about Apocrypha Title's being written around that time period, important people, if its consider historical or God inspired... old and new testament taking only 304 pages. I have larger commentary volumes of Both that I love dearly, but this book allows you to get clear information with only a few paragraphs. There's an addendum to the New Testament...a section of pages about the apostolic fathers--Apocrypha of the New Testament, a couple pages explaining the manuscripts materials, a few statements on the different versions, an Appendix (1) of Dead Sea Scrolls by John F Brug (3-4 pages)..... Appendix (2) Eight English versions of the bible evaluated... (13 pages)
So, as you can see this is a very full informed Book of Books! (Posted on 9/15/2017)
