What products are included in the NPH Online Catalog?
The NPH Online Catalog currently contains access to over 10,000 items with more products and pictures being added daily. The Online Catalog will contain most products available for sale in the NPH Christian Books and Gifts store.
What types of products are sold by Northwestern Publishing House?
Northwestern Publishing House is the official publisher of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS). We publish products for use by WELS members, churches, and schools. NPH also sells products, such as church supplies, books, and gift items, produced by other religious publishers. These materials have been reviewed for scriptural agreement by pastors, teachers, or professors of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod. Some of them may contain minor teachings or ideas that
are not consistent with the Scriptures and the Lutheran Confessions, but on the advice of the reviewer are offered for sale because of their importance and value. Lutheran Christians should read these materials with some discrimination.
How is the NPH Online Catalog Organized?
On the left side of the page, you will see a list of all categories of products. When you click on one of these categories, you will be taken to a listing of subcategories within that category. When you choose one of the subcategories, you will see a listing of all products in that subcategory in the main area of the screen.
Does the NPH Online Catalog use "cookies"?
Yes. In order to order from the NPH Online Catalog, you will need to set your browser to "allow cookies."
How do I search for an item?
At the top of the screen you will see a search field. Type in the words (title, author, description, item number) that you would like to search for and choose the area that you would like to search by selecting the "scope" pulldown menu. You will be shown a list of products that match your criteria in the main window.
What if I can’t find what I’m looking for?
We are always in the process of enhancing and adding products to the NPH Online Catalog. If you are unable to locate a certain product in the Online Catalog you may contact NPH by clicking on the "Contact" link and we gladly will try to assist you. The best way to locate a "hard-to-find" product would be to do a search using the 6-digit NPH product number.
How do I add items to the Shopping Cart?
Items can be added to your shopping cart by typing the amount you wish to order in the box marked "Qty:" at the bottom of the right frame and then clicking the "Add to Cart" button. When your screen refreshes, the item has been added to your cart.
Note: You must be logged into the online catalog in order to add items to your cart.
You can view the items in your Shopping Cart at any time by clicking on the "View Cart" icon in the upper-left corner of the screen. Once you are satisfied with what is in your cart, you can check out.
How do I delete items from the Shopping Cart?
In order to delete items from your cart, click on the "trash can" icon next to the item. Changing the quantity to "zero" WILL NOT remove the item from your cart.
How do I place an order online?
To place your order safely and immediately via the Internet, you need to add items to your "shopping cart". You can see at all times how many items, if any, are in your shopping cart by looking in the upper left area of the page. Next click on the "Checkout" button in the upper left area of the page. How do I place an order offline?
Click on the "View Cart" button. An order form containing all items in your cart will appear. You may change the quantity ordered or empty your cart at this point. If you wish to remove an item, click on the "trash can" icon next to the item. You then may order by calling NPH Order Services at (800) 662-6022, filling out the order information and faxing the order to (414) 475-7684, or mailing the order form to Northwestern Publishing House, 1250 N. 113th Street, Milwaukee, WI 53226.
Is it safe to send my credit card number over the Internet?
Yes. The NPH Online Catalog is running on a SECURE SERVER. The credit card information is encrypted, so it can not be intercepted.
Note: To complete a credit card / NPH Account order on our Online Catalog, you must be using an up-to-date SSL-capable browser, such as Netscape 2.0 or later, Internet Explorer 3.0 or later, or AOL Web Crawler 3.0 or later. This ensures that your order information will be secure on the Internet. If you are not using such a browser, you will receive an error message when you try to complete an order. If this happens, you must first upgrade your browser before you can order.
How much will shipping and handling cost?
Northwestern Publishing House uses a system that charges our customers the actual cost charged by the shipping company plus a handling fee of $2.50 ($4.00 handling charge will be added to orders requiring expedited delivery). In most cases, this system results in lower shipping costs than a flat rate based on the cost of the merchandise.
Choosing the shipping method labeled "Standard Shipping" allows the us to choose the least expensive and safest shipping method available for your delivery address.
Please note that if an order to a residential address is under $30.00 and qualifies per USPS regulations it will be shipped "Media Mail" unless specified to ship a different way. This is the most economical method of shipping, but the item may take a few extra days to arrive.
Will I be charged tax on my order?
All items in the online catalog are taxable at a rate of 5% to Wisconsin residents not having an exempt certificate. Sale of merchandise shipped to customers outside Wisconsin are tax exempt. Milwaukee county residents also pay an additional .6% county sales tax.
When will I receive my order?
Assuming items are in stock, orders are shipped within 24 hours of placing your order. We want you to be completely satisfied with every purchase. If the items you receive are not satisfactory, we will either give you full credit toward the purchase of any other item or refund your money.
How do I return merchandise?
Return Policy: Items that are in perfect resaleable condition may be returned for full credit within six months from the date of purchase. A photo copy of the original packing slip, receipt, or invoice must accompany all returns. Merchandise returned without documentation may be denied credit. The customer is responsible for any return shipping charges.
Vacation Bible School material must be returned before September 15th.
Christmas merchandise must be returned before January 15th.
Other seasonal merchandise returned out-of-season but within the time frame indicated above is subject to credit at the current clearance price.
Merchandise returned late will not be credited or returned to the sender.

Items that cannot be returned:
Unless defective, downloadable files, e-products, specially ordered merchandise, dated material, or personalized items will not be credited.
